Looking at ebay, signed copies of the first five, first edition Pan/Abacus paperbacks go for about 20-25 pounds. Do uncorrected proofs of these first five exist? If they do exist, how many were made and how much do they sell for?

What is the most valuable book?

A signed first of The Antipope is probably the most valuable one, though its not the highest price paid for a Rankin book. That accolade goes to..... Necrophenia signed proof copy. There is only one and it was auctioned right here for charity. No other proof of this book will ever get signed so its unique.

At the Forbidden Planet signing a girl in front of me brought one to be signed and Robert asked where she got it ebay she replied and the Rob replied I'm sorry I can't sign it for you because I said I would only sign the one that went for the auction charity.

How much did the signed proof go for in the charity auction?

So there you have it. Robert is a man of his word. I hope he keeps true to this and does the same with all new books he writes. It would be great to own and even better to know that the money has gone to a good cause.

Myself I doubt I will ever actually manage to get one, I am too piss poor for that (and no jokes from those who know about tight Scots ok?) and being a family man means you have other priorites.
